There were 3,203 students enrolled in Door County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 1% less than the previous school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 52.4% identified themselves as male, 47.6% as female.

Data also showed that white students comprised 81.8% of the student body in Door County schools—the largest share—followed by Hispanic students at 11.2%, multiracial students at 4.9%, and Black students at 1.1%.

Southern Door Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Door County’s 16 schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 482 students.

Wisconsin ranked 29th in the U.S. for student-to-teacher ratio at 14:1, according to a study by AAA State of Play.
