There were 61 students enrolled in Washington Island School District in the 2024-25 school year, 8.9% more than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 50.8% identified themselves as girls, 49.2% as boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 90.2% of the Washington Island School District total enrollment.

Washington Island School District covers two schools within Door County, with its main office in Washington Island.

Among the two schools in the district, Washington Island Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 38 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin ranks 22nd in the U.S. for public education spending, with an annual expenditure of over $16,500 per pupil, totaling $13.8 billion per year.
