Who:     Community planners, designers, advocates, and related.
What:    Future of Zoning
When:   Wednesday August 24th, 4:30pm
Where:  Working Draft Brewing Company
Why:      It’s super important!

APA-WI, in collaboration with AARP, Congress for a New Urbanism – Wisconsin, and 1000 Friends of Wisconsin, is hosting a professional re-connection event and discussion at Working Draft Brewing Company, 1129 E Wilson St, Madison on Wednesday, August 24th. We will begin to gather at 4 with the intent to facilitate a group discussion at approximately 4:30. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Carry-in food is welcome.

Membership or alignment with any of these collaborating organizations is not required. This is an open conversation and networking event.

The discussion will focus on the Future of Zoning and potential Regional Collaborations. Many Dane County communities have recently amended their zoning codes, are doing so presently, or planning to launch major initiatives. State-wide as nationally, conversation concerning how to improve development controls to align with public values and outcomes, including but not limited to social equity, environmental stewardship, housing supply, and public health – is a red hot topic. This is a politically contentious and technically complicated area of practice, and we can do better by supporting one-another in effectively meeting this challenge.
