The Miller Art Museum has been awarded a Creation and Presentation grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board for fiscal year 2025. This program supports nonprofit arts organizations in Wisconsin that focus on creating or presenting ongoing arts programming with significant cultural impact.
The grant aims to sustain the state's arts sector by supporting organizations with strong operations, stable management, and high artistic quality. The Wisconsin Arts Board's investment ensures communities across the state have access to enriching artistic experiences.
"The visual arts are essential to a thriving, healthy, and vibrant community," said Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, executive director of the museum. "This grant supports our vital programming and contributes to ensuring the visual arts and the creative history of the Peninsula remain a vital part of our lives here in Door County. We are incredibly grateful for the support, which strengthens our ability to connect artists and community."
Beyond benefiting the Miller Art Museum, these grants strengthen other similar institutions' operations statewide. They contribute to economic and cultural development by fostering creativity, providing educational opportunities, and enhancing life quality for Wisconsin residents.
Funding for this grant comes from both the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
