FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have requested specific records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
The records we are seeking are a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. We have asked for these records to include the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
Our role as a media outlet involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
