Transportation Planning for People and the Planet: Lessons from the Midwest
This report outlines what’s already working in the Midwest when local jurisdictions harmonize climate planning with transportation and comprehensive planning, and it offers recommendations on both content and process.
You can also watch the recorded webinar that outlines the research and provides examples from planning staff in Minneapolis and Cedar Rapids.
This research was conducted in partnership with 1000 Friends of Wisconsin, Transportation Riders United, 1000 Friends of Iowa, and Move Minnesota.
It examined climate, transportation, and comprehensive planning in 25 jurisdictions across five states. The result is a guide to help planners and advocates make the most of all three types of plans to benefit people and the climate.
