Wausaukee School District issued the following announcement on Sept. 24
As mentioned in last week’s letter, we have been experiencing increased student illness; both COVID-19 and general viral activity. At the end of last week, there were seven active COVID-19 cases among students and staff. Currently, there are twelve active COVID-19 cases, six of which are on track to resolve over the weekend and return to school on Monday. Moving forward, each Friday I will continue to update our school community regarding the week’s COVID-19 activity.
Wausaukee School District takes the well-being of our students and staff seriously and we continually monitor our COVID-19 mitigation strategies. In addition to symptom monitoring, we also have a dedicated custodial staff that does an excellent job cleaning our building. We ask all to continue to be diligent with symptom monitoring and if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. We now have free COVID-19 testing available at school for any students (including their household members) and staff in our school district. Please reference the letter from Mrs. Richardson, School Health Aide, for more details on how the testing process works.
Again, we value your understanding, patience and teamwork as we work together to provide our students with a healthy learning environment!
