FOIA Request to Town of Union Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NE Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records of new voter registrations from the recent election held on November 5, 2024.

As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to these records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and dissemination.

The request specifically seeks a list of voters who registered on the day of the election – November 5, 2024. This information will aid us in providing detailed analysis and reporting on voter turnout and participation in the electoral process.

We firmly believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. Our role is pivotal in disseminating information that promotes transparency and holds public institutions accountable.

We eagerly await a response from the Town of Union’s office regarding this request. We will continue to strive towards providing our readers with up-to-date and accurate news coverage on all matters concerning local government affairs.
