FOIA Request to Town Of Dunbar Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at NE Wisconsin News have sent a formal request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town Of Dunbar.

Our request specifically seeks access to a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024. This information is vital in our mission to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage about our local governmental affairs.

As a media organization, we rely heavily on access to public records to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency for the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We await a response from the Town Of Dunbar and will continue our efforts to keep the public informed about important civic matters.
