FOIA Request to Town of Blackwell Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at NE Wisconsin News have formally requested the Town of Blackwell for a list of new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we have asked for the records to be provided in an electronic format.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We are awaiting a response from the Town of Blackwell regarding this request.
