FOIA Request to Town of Amberg Regarding Same Day Registered Voters on November 7, 2024.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at NE Wisconsin News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Amberg. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and seeks access to public records detailing new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
The ability to access these public records is vital for us at NE Wisconsin News as it allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We eagerly await the response from the Town of Amberg regarding this request and will continue our efforts in providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
